National Highways have announced that the M4 closures between junction 11 and junction 12 will end this week after months of road works near Reading.
The works at the Burghfield Road Bridge resulted in a series of motorway closures within the stretch of major motorway between Reading and Theale.
These works resulted in full weekend closures which caused a massive effect on traffic in and around Reading.
After months of hard work to repair the bridge, the final period of M4 road closures between junction 11 and junction 12 has been announced.
National Highways announced this week that the July closures would include:
July closures
- 1 – 2 July - Westbound overnight full closures.
- 3 – 11 July Westbound overnight lane closures (no access to Reading services westbound)
- 12 – 18 July Westbound overnight lane closures (no access to Reading services westbound) (Contingency)
This means that Thursday, July 18 will be the final day of road closures due to the bridge repairs.
