'Flying ant day' is said to have officially hit our town, with many posting on social media about the phenomenon.
This annual swarming event usually occurs in July or August and coincides with a period of hot and humid weather.
Today Thursday July 18 many residents took to Facebook to share that 'flying ant day' has arrived in the town.

Lots of people have been posting various photographs and videos of these winged creatures on social media.
One member of the public said that they had been spilling out of his compost bin this morning.
Another person said they are currently nesting in their house, much to the disgust of their whole family.
Many also expressed how much they hate the flying ants, with some locals dating the trauma back to their childhoods.
