A residential street in Tilehurst has been left in disarray after a multiple-vehicle car crash which occurred last night.
Residents have reported that at around 4 am this morning Monday, July 22 on Brunswick Street in Tilehurst a BMW came 'flying' down the road at breakneck speed and subsequently crashed into nine cars.
Steve from a nearby block of flats said “At 4 am there was an almighty bang. A BMW just came flying down the road about 80 mph hitting about 8/9 cars.
"It was three girls and two boys and they all ran off after their airbags went off. I saw it happening and It was absolutely crazy.”
Video footage of the crash shows the car hurtling down the narrow road and smashing into a parked vehicle.
The parked car's alarm then sounds and it starts to smoke.
The silver and the black car depicted are owned by a man called Matthew who lives on the street.
He said: “It’s terrible really. It woke everyone up but I didn’t actually see what happened.
“This has never happened here before and it was just shocking. “As long as everything gets fixed and paid for, It’ll be ok.”
