A Berkshire local, identified as Mr. W has scooped a lottery prize of £10,000 a month for a year.

He took the jackpot after successfully guessing the five main numbers in the "Set For Life" draw of June 20.

Mr. W obtained his winning numbers randomly via the National Lottery website.

With his win, he now joins the over eight million weekly winners from the variety of games offered by the National Lottery.

Winners have the discretion to disclose their identity, remain incognito, or like our lucky Berkshire man, share only partial information.

In light of this win, Senior Winners’ Advisor at The National Lottery, Andy Carter, expressed his delight.

Mr Carter said: "Wow, we are super excited for Mr W, who can now look forward to receiving £10,000 every month for one year.

"Huge congratulations!"

Mr W's remarkable win underlines the ease of participation in the lottery for all interested.

Players can access tickets from retail outlets, the National Lottery website, or the app.

Particularly convenient for online players is the automatic ticket checking feature which notifies winners by email, eliminating the task of manually checking numbers.

Regardless of whether one opts for a personal selection of numbers or employs a Lucky Dip like Mr W, participation on national-lottery.co.uk is effortless.

Moreover, setting up an online National Lottery Direct Debit guarantees a ticket in every draw while saving you from the worry of keeping track of tickets or numbers.

On national-lottery.co.uk, tickets for all draw-based games including Set For Life, Lotto, EuroMillions, and Thunderball are available.

The website also offers a selection of online Instant Win Games once an account is registered.

The Set For Life game, from which Mr W won, requires players to select five main numbers between 1 and 47 and a 'Life Ball' between 1 and 10.

The top prize offers £10,000 a month for 30 years, with the 2nd prize giving £10,000 a month for one year and £5 for matching only two main numbers.

The game costs £1.50 per line and is drawn every Monday and Thursday.
