The UK’s largest free family yoga festival returns to Reading’s Forbury Gardens for its 12th consecutive year this Saturday. 

Organisers are expecting over 8,000 festival goers to attend this festival of peace, with live mantra music, meditation tents, bhakti yoga tents, kids zone, face painting, henna tattoos, allotment tent and a magic show! 

Working in partnership with local charity Food For All (which has fed over 100,000 free meals to homeless people in Reading since 2012), over 5,000 free hot vegetarian meals will be served to all from the Food Tents in Forbury Gardens from 2pm!  

Spokesperson for the festival Phil Alexander said: "Saturday, July 27 is going to be packed with fun for all the family!"

There will also be a street parade with an effigy of Krishna. 

Mr Alexander said: "As part of the festival, there will also be a colourful chariot procession through Reading high street starting at 1pm, with melodious singing, chanting and dancing to rhythmical drums and cymbals!

"We are creating legacy projects across the UK, inspiring people to come together to cultivate and grow their own food, for a sustainable future." 

The festival is organised by The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON). Devotees of Krishna can often be seen in Broad Street.
