A person has been killed on the tracks at a railway station on an Reading route.

Emergency services including British Transport Police and paramedics raced to the Hayes and Harlington railway station at around 7.51pm on Monday night.

Reports of a casualty on the tracks were confirmed as a person, whose gender has not been confirmed by the force, was pronounced dead at the station.

British Transport Police confirmed that the death is not thought to be suspicious.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Hayes and Harlington railway station at 7.51pm yesterday (29 July) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
