A NEW fast-food chain serving up burgers, pizzas and more is gearing up to open in Reading town centre.
Advertising for Mr T's has gone up at an empty restaurant unit on the outside of the Broad Street Mall, with the eatery expected to open soon.
According to its website, Mr T's is a family-owned and operated restaurant with a passion for fresh, flavoursome food. The chain opened its doors in 2016 with six locations in the north. The website proudly states Mr T's has received the patronage of boxers Floyd Mayweather, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder.
Mr T's will be taking over the Doner & Gyros unit on the outside of Broad Street Mall, which opened in the Spring of 2022, but has been closed for a number of weeks.
Doner & Gyros took over from China Palace, an institution Reading restaurant which closed in December 2019.
China Palace had a troubled period before closing, after 11 illegal workers were found over a six-year period, leading to heavy financial penalties and the owners losing their licence to sell alcohol.
