A trampoline activity centre in Reading is set to close for more than a month over the summer holidays - as it will be undergoing a £1-million overhaul that will bring in new play equipment and create 10 jobs.
RedKangaroo Reading will undergo a full transformation from Monday, August 12, closing for six weeks for the extensive refurbishment. The venue will reopen in October as Oxygen Reading.
It follows indoor family activity group Oxygen buying the RedKangaroo business earlier this year, with plans to keep open RedKangaroo’s sites in Reading, Nottingham and Coventry.
In Reading, the venue will retain all its staff - and hire 10 more people to join the team.
Stephen Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Oxygen Activeplay, said: “The plans for Oxygen Reading are extremely exciting and we can’t wait to welcome the park to the Oxygen Activeplay brand.
“The RedKangaroo team has done a phenomenal job of becoming part of Reading’s community, and we are delighted to be continuing that work. We can’t wait to bring big-time fun to Reading and beyond in October, and to introduce them to the new members of the Oxygen Reading hero crew."
The refurbished venue will feature around thirty-two trampolines, including five long bed trampolines, twenty-six single trampolines, and one long tumble track.
Oxygen Reading will also set up parkour-style stunt areas and a mega air-bag and trapeze.

The Gauntlet Run will allow guests to compete in a series of obstacles and challenges in a race against the clock, and a new Toddler Zone will include a ball pool, mini trampettes, a mini air-bag, and an obstacle course.
A state-of-the-art, interactive sports pitch will introduce guests to Basket Battle, Hotshot and more games based on sports such as basketball and football.
The refurbishment will also include transformed party areas, and a cafe, with a new food and drink menu for guests to enjoy.
