Do you fancy attending this year's Reading Festival - and get paid to be there? A recruitment company is looking to find people to work across the event. 

Reading Festival is set to return to Richfield Avenue across the August Bank Holiday, with Fred Again, Lana Del Rey, Liam Gallagher, and Blink-182 all set to perform. 

More than 85,000 festival-goers are expected to attend after the campsite opens on 6pm on Wednesday, August 21st, with the weekend of live music coming to a close on Sunday, August 25th. 

If you want to attend and earn some money in the process new roles are currently being advertised. 

Recruitment firm Thrive is looking for friendly applicants to join the festival's welcome team. 

What are the roles?

Joining the welcome team at the festival, staff will be expected to welcome attendees as they arrive on-site, deal with any issues they have gaining entry, and make their arrival as fun as possible. 

When you need to be available 

The advertisement says applicants need to be available on Monday, August 20th, for accreditation and then shifts from Wednesday, August 21s, to Sunday, August 25th. 

Average working hours will be between 24 to 40 hours across the role. 

How much you will be paid and perks of the role 

The rate being advertised is £11.44 per hour. The role includes show access and a private camping area. Travel assistance, meals, and accommodation are not provided. 

Are volunteering roles still available?

If you're unsuccessful securing a paid job or cannot apply, there's still a chance of attending the festival by volunteering. 

Volunteer shifts are still available through Hotbox Events - there isn't a specific deadline, with applications open until all of the volunteer positions have been filled. 

The first Reading Festival volunteer shift starts at 9am on the Wednesday.

Volunteers are required to complete three eight hour shifts, so a total of twenty-four hours volunteering throughout the course of the festival.

Standard shift times are 9am to 5pm, 5pm to 1am, and 1am to 9am. Everyone volunteering through Hotbox Events is required to work one night shift. 

The final Reading Festival volunteer shift finishes at 5pm on the Monday after the festival weekend.

A  refundable deposit required to volunteer at Reading Festival is £95 if you haven't volunteered previously. 

Are tickets still available?

If you want to enjoy the festival without having to work or volunteer, tickets are still available. 

You can pick up day-tickets for Saturday - which will feature Fred Again and Lana Del Rey - for £195. If you want a day-ticket for Friday or Sunday, entry is available for £125. Weekend tickets are £325.
