A young man has been left with life-threatening injuries after an incident on a busy motorway near Reading.
Police were called to a concern for welfare incident near Burnt Hill between junctions 12 and 13 on the eastbound carriageway of the M4 at around 12.30am.
Officers found the man - believed to be aged between 15 and early twenties - with life-threatening injuries. The man has been taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Thames Valley Police had previously issued an appeal for help in identifying the young man, saying that no missing person reports matched his description.

A spokesperson from the force said: "The victim has been identified and his next of kin have been made aware.
"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal."
