Soon-to-be new Reading owner Rob Couhig has already achieved one task Dai Yongge failed to complete in his seven-year ownership of the club, conversing with the legendary figure Sir John Madejski.
Couhig and Co, who are poised to complete their takeover of the club this week, were present for the Royals' 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Not particularly subtle in their approach, with a cameraman permanently on the 75-year-old and taking official photographs on the pitch pre-match, supporters even had a chance to chat to the former Wycombe Wanderers chief over the railings in his box.
However, one particularly symbolic moment was captured by fans as Sir John Madejski- who saved the club from the brink in 1990 before embarking on a successful 27-year stint at the helm- embraced the man close to saving the Royals from the brink in 2024.
Yongge, who took over in 2017, infamously never reached out to Madejski and had only one brief crossover at Wembley for the play-off final defeat to Huddersfield Town.

By the time the Royals are next in action, travelling to Wrexham on Saturday, the club are expected to be in new hands, much to the relief of all connected to the club.
