The reopening date for a trampoline park in Reading has been revealed as it becomes an activities site for people of all ages.

The Red Kangaroo trampoline park in Bridgewater Close, West Reading closed recently, with the brand being acquired by the Oxygen Activeplay company. 

Now the activity centre is set to become 'Oxygen Reading' which will provide trampolines, dodgeball, climbing walls, a 'giant airbag' and soft play for children.

Other features include the brand’s signature Excite Tunnel, parkour-style stunt areas and a trapeze, which the company states are popular activities at its other sites across the country.

The company is investing £1 million into the site in Reading, which will be its ninth location, with four sites in London, and others in Derby, York, Wilmslow and  Southend on Sea.

Announcing the news, Stephen Wilson, Chief Executive Officer at Oxygen Activeplay, said: “The plans for Oxygen Reading are extremely exciting and we can’t wait to welcome the park to the Oxygen Activeplay brand.

“The RedKangaroo team has done a phenomenal job of becoming part of Reading’s community, and we are delighted to be continuing that work.

“We can’t wait to bring big-time fun to Reading and beyond in October, and to introduce them to the new members of the Oxygen Reading hero crew!”

The Oxygen facility is set to open in time for the school autumn half term on Friday, October 4.

In preparation for opening, the company has applied to sell alcohol from a cafe inside from  11am to 11pm each day, and provide regulated entertainment from 9am to 11pm each day as well.

It is understood the application for regulated entertainment will cover Oxygen ActivePlay's activities that are based on sports such as basketball and football.

The company has stated that these sports will take place on an interactive pitch which will give guests the chance to hone their skills in new and exciting ways.

For the adventurous, Oxygen Reading will feature The Gauntlet Run will allow guests to compete in a series of obstacles and challenges in a race against the clock.

As a venue for all ages, the park will also have new Toddler Zone will include mini trampettes, a mini air-bag, an obstacle course and a ball pool, to make sure that under 5’s don’t miss out.

Oxygen ActivePlay has applied for these activities in licensing submission to Reading Borough Council.
