A company could entertain guests for functions at its swanky offices in Reading town centre.
The accountancy firm Ernst & Young, known as EY, could serve alcohol such as sparkling wine for client meetings at its offices in the R+ building in Blagrave Street.
The firm moved to R+ in April 2022 after occupying Apex Plaza. At the time, Richard Baker, office managing partner for EY Reading said: “EY has always worked flexibly, but a move to hybrid working and a focus on how we use our office space, will involve a shift in behaviours for all our people.
"The move is an opportunity to learn about the most efficient and effective way to work in our new environment, adapting to how we do business by using technology, virtual, and in person interactions.
"The Reading office is the first of its kind for EY, so we will be setting the benchmark and providing a learning opportunity for others to follow."
The recent application would allow the provision of alcohol from 12pm to 11pm each day.
The bid for alcohol provision has been submitted to Reading Borough Council's licensing department.
