A charity has been praised for feeding hungry children in Woodley over the summer holidays.
The Woodley Lunch Brunch charity helps feed around 180 youngsters by providing sandwiches and little activities for children during the school holidays.
The charity was set up during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 to help families feed their children in school holidays and has continued to provide assistance.
In a recent volunteering session, Yuan Yang, the Labour MP for Earley and Woodley, helped out by making sandwiches and packing the bags.
The lunch items are prepared at the Emmanuel Church centre in St Luke's Crescent, Woodley, ready for dispatch to clients throughout the area.
The lunches include sandwiches, fruit, a drink and a chocolate treat.
You can request a lunch for your children using the Woodley Lunch Brunch website.
The charity is on the lookout for volunteers, food and monetary donations and drop off points. You can head to its website to find out how to help.
The charity has received the patronage of Matt Allwright a TV presenter for shows such as Rouge Traders, Watchdog and The One Show.
An ITV broadcast from December last year shows Shirley Boyt a former Wokingham Borough Councillor helping pack the lunches.
Ms Yang helped out on Tuesday, August 20. The charity was also visited by Matt Rodda, then the Labour MP for Reading East in 2020.
Mr Rodda became the Labour MP for Reading Central in the general election this year.
