A logistics hub that replaced a car trader in the suburbs of Reading is on the market a year after works on the site were finished.

The Autotrader at the Cutbush Industrial Estate in Lower Earley was vacated nearly 10 years ago in 2015, prompting plans to redevelop it.

Initially, developers were hoping to replace the Autotrader and Hartman House building next door with 76 apartments.

However, the prospect of housing on the site was shelved in favour of a logistics hub, with Wokingham Borough Council, the planning authority, approving a project for the hub in March 2022.

Work on the site was completed in the summer of last year.

A streetview image from last October shows the site complete ready for occupation.

However, the site remains unoccupied a year from being finished.

The logistics hub is being marketed by TLRE commercial real estate.

Called 'GEM:Reading', the site offers a 4,1303 sq ft commercial building for warehouse and industrial use.

'Key benefits' include its proximity to the M4, ancillary office and amenity space, and eight electric vehicle charging points in its 48-space car park.

The advert states that is 'ready to occupy with immediate effect'.

No price has been provided for rent of the unit, which is provided on application to TLRE.
