A regular at Reading Festival has said that despite many rejoicing at the reunion of Liam and Noel Gallagher, he himself feels that the return of Oasis is a sham.

Resident of Reading Dennis Morton, 64, said he thinks that Oasis getting back together is an example of how capitalism has gone wrong.

"They haven't played together in such a long time and now they're going to make a comeback," Mr Morton said.

"My question is, do they need the money? No, they don't. They've had very successful careers. I do obviously understand that it would make a lot of fans happy."

Mr Morton says that they are exploiting something, and they won't come up with anything new in the way of music.

He said as they have less than a year to write an album he doubts that any new music will come out of the reunion.

"You can't help but get involved in the hype, but I'm just putting another perspective out there," he said. "I do not think a reunion of Oasis is necessary."

Mr Morton said that as both of the brothers have made millions of pounds over the course of their careers, he doesn't understand why they feel the need to bring the band back together.

"Do they need 50 million quid out of it? I don't think so. It definitely is just about the money, nothing else."

Mr Morton goes to Reading Festival many times and went this year as a volunteer.
