A state-of-the-art massage therapy centre is set to open in Reading later this year, creating 15 jobs following a £500,000 investment.
The Massage Company Reading, in Market Place, will launch with a VIP event on Wednesday, November 13.
The site will become the latest in the nationwide expansion of the specialist massage franchise, which has 10 centres operating around the UK.
Open seven days a week, the 2,000 sq. ft location will house 10 treatment rooms and a team of up to 10 therapists, with the aim of providing treatments to thousands of customers each month.
The centre will specialise in four types of massage: sports, Swedish, deep tissue and maternity, each with a choice of upgrade options including hot stone, scalp massage, aromatherapy, and a ‘fantastic foot’ treatment.
Owners Swati Bagwe and Shipra Mehta said that they want to make regular, affordable massage available to the area.
Swait Bagwe said: “There are spas and standalone beauty treatments available but there isn’t a professional mainstream massage provider. Often, massage is very expensive and quality is variable.
“We’re aiming to change that with a welcoming environment, a monthly subscription model and a team of therapists trained to the highest standards. It’s a completely different concept to anything else in and around Reading.”
The brand is already proving popular with residents in branches across the region, according to Elliot Walker, founder and CEO of The Massage Company.
He said: “Customers from Reading visit our other locations in Camberley, High Wycombe and Ealing so it is great to make our quality of massage therapy treatments available to everyone in Reading.
“Research shows that regular treatments promote significant improvements in both physical and mental health – now these will be available to the people of Reading without having to travel long distances.”
You can register for the VIP event, which includes complimentary taster massage sessions and a tour of the facilities, by visiting reading.massagecompany.co.uk.
The owners are recruiting for quality massage therapists and an assistant manager to join the Reading branch.
