Thousands of revellers from across the UK will take to the streets to celebrate diversity and inclusion at the 2024 Reading Pride celebrations this weekend.
During the parade which begins at 11am on Saturday, August 31, a majority of the road through the town centre will be temporarily closed to allow the exciting parade to travel through the town.
Starting at 11am from Reading Train Station's main entrance, both individuals and different groups from and supporting the LGBT+ community will make their way through Reading to Kings Meadow for the main event.
Below is the route that the parade will be travelling from the station to Kings Meadow.
Temporary road closures
The below roads will be impacted by road closures during this time:
- Blagrave Street
- Forbury Road
- Friar Street
- Queen Victoria Street
- Broad Street
- St Marys Butts
- Castle Street
- Bridge Street
- London Street
- Duke Street
- Kings Road
- High Street
- Market Place
- The Forbury
It will also impact access from the following roads during parts of the parade:
- Fobney Street
- Simmonds Street
- Swan Place
- Maltings Place
- Rose Walk
- Mallard Row
- Waterside Gardens
- Willow Street
- Talbot Court
- St Mary’s Grove
As a resident or business within the road closure area, access will be granted to yourselves and any visitors. As stated above, the roads will be closed between 10:30hrs and 12:30hrs, or until we are reasonably able to remove them to restore access.
