The Met Office has warned people in southeast England to keep an eye on weather warnings ahead of heavy rain expected to hit the region this weekend.
While temperatures in Berkshire are expected to hover around the 20 mark today and tomorrow, the forecaster has warned that disruption could still be posed by last-minute heavy and thundery showers.
Saturday, September 7, is expected to stay largely dry and cloudy, with thundery showers setting in overnight.
They will begin to abate on Sunday morning, September 8, before making way for a cloudy day with patchy rain and a maximum temperature of 20 degrees.
The Met Office has not issued any weather warnings for the Berkshire area, but deputy chief meteorologist Dan Harris said the weekend forecast “comes with larger uncertainties than average”.
He added: “This is due to a more complex than usual meteorological pattern involving multiple corridors of heavy, locally thundery rain revolving around a slow-moving area of low pressure.
“We are keeping warnings under review and will look to issue them over the weekend as confidence increases, so please keep up to date with our latest forecasts and warnings.”
Temperatures are forecast to drop to around 15 degrees in the county next week, with a generally unsettled outlook and clouds and rain expected.
