The owner of a pub near Maidenhead has announced it will close this weekend after a 'significant drop in trade' and 'crippling costs'.
James Thornhill, who runs The Pinkneys Arms near Maidenhead as well as other sites under the Honor Pubs brand, shared news of the closure on Facebook this week.
He said the pub would have its last day of trading tomorrow, Sunday, September 8, and be "boarded up" afterwards, with no plans to reopen.
James wrote: "Like so many hospitality businesses, we have seen crippling increases in operational costs in the last two years (and) utilities have risen to a level which we are unable to sustain.
"It has been a magical seven years - we wish we could stay a part of this wonderful community but sadly we have now reached the end of our journey.
"To all those who have supported us, it is impossible to express in a simple post our gratitude to you - thank you. (And) to the fast number of people who have worked here over the years, we thank you for your effort and dedication.

"We have been fortunate to work alongside some truly great people and as part of some wonderful teams."
He also blamed recently introduced parking restrictions on Lee Lane for "a very significant drop in trade levels" last winter - something that had hit the "seasonably dependent" pub hard.
On a more positive note, the pub director thanked assistant manager Holly Hayward - a locally popular figure - for her "work ethic, cheerfulness and love of the pub (that) has carried us such a long way".
And those wanting to pay their respects to The Pinkneys Arms can drop by tomorrow for all-day leaving drinks. Let's show them they'll be missed!
