Beat the Street, a scheme to get people moving, is returning to Reading later this month.
The interactive game, which turns communities into a giant activity competition, is set to run in the south and east of the town from September 25 until November 6.
Created by Reading GP Dr William Bird MBE, Beat the Street encourages people to explore their areas and make exercise fun.
The game, which has reached more than 168 locations in the UK and 1.9 million players, encourages communities to make small lifestyle changes, such as walking or cycling to school or work every day.
The competitive element of the game motivates people to work together to walk, cycle, run, and scoot for points.
A participant said: "Just want to say a huge thank you!
"I’m a teacher and the kids are absolutely obsessed with Beat the Street - I have never seen anything motivate them to get moving so much!"
Lead councillor for public health and education, Ruth McEwan, said: "We are so excited that Beat the Street is returning to Reading, the town where the whole initiative started!
"Beat the Street not only aims to enhance fitness levels but also serves as a catalyst for bolstering community spirit.
"The competition is open to anyone of any age and is free!
"Sign up and get involved and see how far we can go!"
More information is available on the Beat the Street website and social media channels.
