A growing cafe business has recently expanded with the news that it has taken over a new café in Woodley.

Crumbs has been situated at the Library Parade in Woodley serving coffee, bakes and cocktails for a number of years.

Earlier this year, Crumbs opened its second branch at the School Green Centre in Shinfield.

Now, it has followed that up with the opening of its third branch at the Oakwood Centre in Woodley on Saturday, September 7.

The successful opening was attended by councillor Juliet Anderson (Conservative, Coronation Central), the town mayor, and was discussed at a recent town council meeting.

Cllr Kay Gilder (Conservative, South Lake South) said: "It must have been hundreds! When we were there in the morning it was literally packed!

"They ran out of cakes before the end of the day, and they had been cooking all day Friday.

"It was really very successful."

Kevin Murray, the town clerk said that Crumbs has already invested in an entirely new serving counter at the cafe, when it was discussed at the strategy & resources committee meeting on Tuesday, September 10.

Additionally, cllr Keith Baker (Conservative, Coronation East) commented: "The business is small but highly successful.

"The owner is a classic small entrepreneur that is growing their business, it's great to work with them as well."

Crumbs has been appointed as Woodley town council’s catering partner under an initial five-year contract.

The cafe at the centre was previously run by Berkshire cafe business Brown Bag, which recently chose to vacate.

Brown Bag maintains its locations at Alexandra Court in Wokingham and the High Street in Bracknell.
