A heartwarming event will be taking place this weekend to celebrate our diverse cultures across the town.
Gabrial Scicluna, a long-time resident of Reading, will be hosting a get-together this Saturday, September 14 for the Irish, Italian, and Polish immigrants who live in the town.
The event will take place at St Anne's Roman Catholic School Church Hall in Caversham.
"I've done a fair number of school reunions in the past, but this is actually for the Irish, Polish, and Italian immigrants who I went to school with," Mr Scicluna said.
"I'm an immigrant myself and I feel that it is important to celebrate this."
He continued to say that hundreds of pupils from these countries attended his school, so he thinks an event like this will be well received.
Mr Scicluna feels that it is important to put on an event such as this one as he said that there are not many first-generation people from these countries left in the town.
"I'm rather good at putting on dos, and it would be really great to have a get-together for everyone from these different countries for some food and drink and music being played," he said.
Mr Scicluna is asking those who wish to attend to bring their own drinks, food, and musical instruments to have 'a jolly good time.'
