An amazing afternoon and evening was had by all at Reading Ukrainian Community Centre for the official opening of their Ukrainian library.

The Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB) is the largest representative body for Ukrainians and those of Ukrainian descent in the UK.

They exist to develop, promote and support the interests of the Ukrainian community in the UK.

A spokesperson for the community centre said the following: "Thank you to the local dignatories, performers, and everybody else involved in making this event such a success.

"We also had a blessing of the 4X4 which will be Ukraine bound packed with Aid very shortly."

AUGB organise various campaigns, programmes or exhibitions to promote and commemorate aspects of Ukrainian history and culture.

The Association was founded in 1946 by Ukrainians who came to Great Britain at the end of the Second World War.
