An Asian eatery serving up dumplings and other delicacies is gearing up to open in Reading town centre.

Preparations are underway for 'Just Momo' to open up at the Abbey Corner building at the junction of Kings Road and Duke Street.

Work has been undertaken inside and outside of the upcoming eatery, with Just Momo claiming to be the 'king of recipe from Nepal', and inviting future guests to 'savour the taste of Nepal'.

Signs on the door and windows state the eatery will be opening soon.

Ahead of that, the business owners have applied to sell alcohol from 9am to 11pm each day.

This application has been submitted to Reading Borough Council's licensing department.

A statutory consultation into the application has begun. You can comment on it by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk.

The deadline for representations is Wednesday, October 16.

Just Momo will open at the Abbey Corner building which previously served as a Personal Independence Payment (PIP) consultation centre and before that a Weight Watchers lifestyle centre.

Weight Watchers occupied the offices from 2012 to 2015, with the PIP centre taking over before the Department of Work and Pensions vacated the building in 2017.

It has since been divided into three flexible commercial units, with Just Momo occupying unit 3, with the central unit set to become a convenience store.

Gulinder Singh Chopra applied to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm each day from the central unit earlier this year.
