Today Tuesday, September 24, a full list of flood warnings has been issued across the county, with some presenting a risk of property flooding.
The areas at potential risk and advice from the government is as follows:
Flood alert for River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising rapidly on the Upper Kennet in the Winterbourne Monkton area following recent heavy rain. Therefore, flooding of low lying land and roads is expected from this afternoon.
Flood alert for River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have risen on the River Pang following recent heavy rain. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected from this morning, especially in areas closest to the River Pang in the Tidmarsh area. Levels on the Sulham Brook have also risen but remain below the flood risk threshold.
Flood alert for River Wye and The Hughenden Stream
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels have fallen but remain high on the River Wye following heavy rain. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected to continue overnight, especially in the areas closest to the River Wye in the Bourne End and High Wycombe areas.
Further heavy rainfall is forecast overnight, clearing by the morning. River levels may rise further in response to ongoing rainfall.
Flood alert for Lower River Colne and Frays River
River levels remain high on the Lower River Colne and Frays River.
Flooding may continue to affect low-lying land and roads, particularly in the Thorney Mill Road and Cricketfield Road areas, which may impact Riverside Mobile Home Park.
Flood warning for Mill Brook from the Hagbourne Mill area to Winterbrook
Property flooding remains possible. River levels on the Mill Brook remain high but have receded following this morning's rise in response to heavy rainfall.
Flooding of property and roads remains possible overnight, especially in areas closest to the Brook in Blewbury. Further heavy rainfall is forecast overnight, clearing by the morning. It is likely river levels will respond again to overnight rainfall and therefore this Flood Warning will remain in force overnight. Our staff are checking and clearing trash screens.
Flood alert for River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne
Property flooding is possible. A Flood Warning is in force on the River levels have risen on the Mill Brook from the Hagbourne Mill area to Winterbrook. River levels on the Mill Brook, a tributary of the River Thames, are high as a result of heavy rain.
Flood alert for Colne Brook at Iver and Colnbrook
River levels on the Colne Brook are high due to recent heavy rainfall. Flooding is forecast to affect locations near the Colne Brook and Lower Colne, with low lying land and roads expected to be most affected, particularly around Colnbrook Village, Poyle, Albany Park, High Street, Mill Street, Fawsley Close and Myrtle Close.
