A care home manager has completed a 26-mile hike to raise money for a cancer charity.

Nadia Koseva, the general manager of Shinfield View, part of the Berkley Care Group, took part in the Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

The marathon hike, organised by the charity, started and finished in Wareham, Dorset, and took participants along the coast line.

The route saw hikers pass through scenic villages, including Swanage, while raising funds for the charity.

Ms Koseva, who has worked in care for many years, was inspired to support Macmillan after witnessing the impact of cancer diagnoses on individuals and their families.

She said: "The hike was physically and emotionally demanding, but I was inspired by the strength and determination of those living with cancer.

"They don’t get the option to give up, and that thought kept me going through the toughest parts.

"The first 13 miles were in dry weather, but the second half was in torrential rain, making the trail muddy and slippery.

"Despite the conditions, crossing the finish line was a truly rewarding moment."

Ms Koseva has raised £306 so far, surpassing her initial goal of £250, but is keen to continue fundraising for the cause.

Ms Koseva said: "Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries become Macmillan’s worries. But they can’t support everyone without help.

"Every donation, no matter how small, helps make a real difference in someone’s life."

She added: "I’m so grateful to everyone who has supported me so far, and I hope to continue raising even more for this amazing cause."
