Today The Chronicle was invited to have a secret first look at the brand-new Oxygen Reading trampoline park.

The new park will be taking the place of the former Red Kangaroo.

Park Manager Sean Bruce said that they are expecting the park to be at its busiest during the winter months, so encourage members of the public to book ahead online to ensure a spot.

"When it gets all dark and cold outside that is our busiest time," Mr Bruce said.

He then showed me the vibrant party section where three parties can be run at the same time. The kids attending the celebration have their very own check-in area with a dramatic light-up passage to the park.

Oxygen Reading has completely transformed the former Red Kangaroo site and now offers lots of new activities and interactive games.

"The gauntlet race is our new thing," said Mr Bruce. "It has three levels and it is timed. You have to do all the levels then bash the end button to record your time."

Despite the gauntlet race appearing as a child's soft play, Mr Bruce assured me that the race is actually for everyone five years old and over.

"It's for adults too, not just for kids. The demographic before was between nine and 11 but we just thought this was ideal for corporate functions and events," he continued.

"It is challenging. This is definitely a unique selling point for us."

The park also boasts an interactive football and basketball pitch which counts players' scores through contact points.

Another particularly fun element Oxygen has included is the wipe out where a number of players have to avoid getting knocked over as two foam poles spin around.

The new company has kept the popular trampoline run where guests can bounce from pad to pad. They also included a trapeze with two levels which flies over a super soft landing mat.

"A completely new thing for us is our little trampoline park specifically for tots where they have their mini trampolines called trampettes," Mr Bruce said.

"What's quite nice as well is that mums and dads have visibility straight from the cafe area and there is only one entrance and exit as well."

The park also now has a fully stocked cafe selling pizza, burgers, salads, ice cream, and lots of other tasty treats.
