Residents and staff at a care home have donated 11 bags of school uniforms to a charity.
Signature at Caversham, a care home in Reading, came together to support The Cowshed, a Wokingham-based charity.
The Cowshed provides free clothes to families across Berkshire who are struggling financially.
The donation drive was initiated after a social media post from the charity, resulting in the donation of school uniforms, mostly new, with some pre-loved items.
The care home's residents, their families, and staff all contributed, with special thanks extended to resident Brian and resident Susie’s husband for their cash donations.
These donations enabled the purchase of additional school uniforms.
Client liaison manager Karen Fleming from the care home said: "At our home, we believe in giving back to our communities.
"Our residents and their families are always willing to support us in these important initiatives, and we’re thrilled to see how generous everyone is.
"We’re always happy to hear from any community groups that may need a little help, and we’ll lend a hand where we can.
"Our team hopes this initiative will inspire others to support local charities like The Cowshed and continue strengthening our community ties across Berkshire."
The school uniforms donated will go to children in need in the area, ensuring they can start the school year with confidence.
The charity focuses on preserving the dignity and self-esteem of those in need by ensuring that the clothing they provide is of high quality, helping individuals during difficult times.
