A countryside pub run by a successful brewery in Berkshire has closed for a week for refurbishment.
The George & Dragon pub outside the village of Swallowfield was taken over by Siren Craft brewing company in October 2021.
Since then, it has become a destination for people seeking tasty food and Siren Craft's selection of ales and stouts.
But the pub has closed during the working week while upgrade works take place. It is expected to reopen on Friday, October 4.
A spokesperson for Siren Craft Brew said: "We are excited about the refurbishment of The George and Dragon over this week. The pub has been a central part of the Swallowfield community for many years and we are proud to start with a series of refurbishments. The car park will be extended with additional spaces and upgrades to our cess tank/sewage system.
"Our gents toilets have been in need of a refurbishment for many years so these will be getting a refresh to bring them back to life.
"Our goal is to refurbish the building in stages and raise the standards. Our team will be on site painting this week and bringing some new colours into the country pub decor."
As a thank you to customers for bearing with them, the pub will be offering a two-for-one on all drinks from Friday, October 4 to Sunday, October 6 when a main course is ordered.
A statement on its Facebook page said: "This will give you the perfect chance to come and see what we have been up to and also try some of our new dishes!"
Part of the rear grounds was sealed off with a digger present on the site on Sunday, September 29.
No planning application for these works is apparent on Wokingham Borough Council's planning portal, the authority that Swallowfield falls within.
Siren Craft Brew has been contacted for more information. The brewery was founded at the Hogwood Industrial Estate in Finchampstead in June 2012.
It opened 'Siren RG1' in Reading town centre in May this year.
