The Co-op has announced the opening date of the new refurbishment store in Tilehurst following a major makeover.
The Tilehurst stop, located on School Road, was partly closed in July 2024 for a two-month programme of works and improvements.
It has been confirmed that the new look Co-op will reopen its new look fully stocked and staffed store on Friday, October 4.
The investment has included a great new look and layout that will serve customers well. This is part of an investment programme being set out for dozens of stores across the country.
Works have also been carried out back-of-shop to enable the store to better serve the community.
Facilities will include an instore bakery and Costa Coffee Express alongside a focus on fresh, healthy and chilled produce; meal ideas and everyday essentials; food-to-go and meal deals.
Fairtrade products; flowers; newspapers and magazines; chilled beers and award-winning wines; ready meals, pizzas and, free-from, vegan and plant-based products.
There is parcel collection services through an Amazon Locker and, DPD. A photo-booth has also been added.
The online home delivery of groceries is available through Deliveroo, Just Eat and Uber Eats – with orders picked fresh in the local store and then delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

"Co-op also has a focus on delivering value, with member price savings across a wide range of everyday essentials so that the people who own our business, our member-owners, benefit every time they shop.”
