The countdown is on as a new bowling alley is set to open at The Oracle in Reading in less than a year.
Hollywood Bowl was announced as the company that will occupy the ground floor of the former House of Fraser in December last year.
The announcement made by The Oracle site owners Hammerson stated that the bowling centre and TK Maxx would open in the summer of 2025.
Since then, preparation works are being undertaken in an effort to meet that deadline.
The latest news on the project is that Hollywood Bowl has applied to install a digital screen on the outside of the future bowling centre.
The screen would be 5000mm by 3500mm, and feature rotating images.
A plan for the sign has been submitted to Reading Borough Council. You can view the application by typing reference PL/24/0992 into the council's planning portal.
It comes as the shopping centre is set for a number of changes in coming years.
Next Beauty at Home closed at the former Debenhams unit after a three-year stint in August 2023.
Last September, a plan was approved to divide up both of the former department stores House of Fraser and Debenhams to provide three retail units each.
Shortly after the approval of that plan, Franco Manca and The Real Greek restaurants closed at the former Debenhams.
The building is subject to a plan to add 218 apartments through new buildings and partial demolition of the unit.
You can view that project by typing reference 221916 into the council's planning portal.
