Alongside continuing disruption on the M4 carriageway, drivers will have to contend with new lane closures this week.
National Highways will begin work on the motorway’s eastbound stretch near junction 11 on Monday, October 7, lasting until Wednesday, October 9.
The lane closures, which will allow the highway body to carry out “technology work” on the carriageway, will be in force from 8pm on Monday until 6am on Wednesday.
Delays are not expected to be significant, with motorists advised to allow an extra ten minutes for their journeys.
Long-running roadwork projects on the M4 will also continue this week, including the closure of the motorway’s eastbound lanes between junctions 12 and 8/9, which began in July last year and is expected to finish on October 16.
Similar 10-minute delays are expected as a result of lane closures in both directions between junctions 12 and 10 for a “major improvement” project that began back in May and won’t wrap up until March 2025.
