Trains between Reading and London stations are facing major disruption this morning - as services respond to a lack of drivers and a death on the tracks.
A person has died on the tracks between Reading station and London Paddington, police have confirmed.
Officers from British Transport Police (BTP) were called to a casualty on the train line near Reading at 9.25am this morning.
A representative for BTP said: “Officers were called to the line in Reading at around 9.25am today (7 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
The incident led to a major disruption on train services between Reading and London.
All lines have now reopened between these stations, but trains may still be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 90 minutes, or revised.
Trains are currently still suspended between Maidenhead and Marlow.
It comes as South Western Railway has to revise its services this morning due to a lack of drivers.
A spokesperson from South Western Railway said: "Due to a shortage of train drivers between London Waterloo and Reading train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled."
Disruption on SWR lines is expected to last until 1pm.
