A former Thames Valley police officer will face a tribunal over allegations of gross misconduct after behaving ‘inappropriately’ during domestic violence training.

Former PC Callum Hubbard has been accused of breaching the standards of professional behaviour amounting to gross misconduct.

It is alleged that on January 8, Mr Hubbard attended a domestic violence training day, during which his ‘demeanour, attitude, comments and behaviour’ was deemed ‘so inappropriate that they showed a lack of respect for victims of domestic violence and his police colleagues’.

The incident is reported to have taken place while the former officer was in training.

The public misconduct hearing will take place at the Thames Valley Police headquarters in Kidlington, Oxfordshire before the Chair, ACC Dennis Murray. It is scheduled to last two days and will start on October 31 at 10am.

The notice for public misconduct hearing does not contain information about where the former officer was based or when he left the force.

Thames Valley Police states on its website that the force ‘never tolerates domestic abuse’, of which anybody can be a victim of, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, sexuality or background.

Misconduct hearings are held to present the facts of a case and allow the person to give an explanation of their conduct and the circumstances surrounding the allegation. Witnesses may also be called to give evidence.

A report of the outcome of the hearing will be made available on its website after the hearing for 28 days, after which it will be removed. Up to six members of the public or press can attend the hearing.
