Reading School has chosen the Royal Berks Charity as its charity of the year.
The school will support the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in its work to provide healthcare services.
From September 2024, the school community will take part in fundraising and volunteering to help patients in the neurology departments at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and West Berkshire Community Hospital.
Lizzie Ayres, deputy headteacher of Reading School, said: "We are thrilled to support Royal Berks Charity as our charity of the year and this partnership is a fantastic opportunity for our students to continue to demonstrate our school values and ethos, which includes the importance of community service and giving back.
"Our school community is committed to making a positive impact in the local and wider area, and we are excited about the activities planned for the coming year."
The school will hold various events throughout the academic year, and everyone in the community is encouraged to participate.
Jo Warrior, charity director at Royal Berks Charity, said: "We are delighted to have been chosen for this special partnership with Reading School as they celebrate their 900th year.
"Their commitment to supporting our cause will have a significant impact on the lives of those we serve.
"The partnership not only reflects the school’s commitment to making a positive difference in the community but also allows us to expand our reach and provide even greater support within the trust.
"We look forward to working together to create lasting change."
Donations can be made through the school's central fundraising page.
