As the considerably bad weather we have been experiencing across Berkshire continues, flooding of low-lying lands and properties is a continued worry for many.
The weather this week throughout the county does not seem to be getting much better with a high chance of rain predicted throughout today Monday, October 14.
Aside from it getting a little dryer tomorrow Tuesday, October 15, the rest of the week up till Monday, October 21, is predicted to have a high chance of rain.
With that in mind, here are the latest flood warnings for Berkshire and surrounding areas:
Flood alert for Lower River Colne and Frays River
River levels are high and steady on the Lower River Colne and Frays River today.
No property flooding is expected, but flooding may continue to affect low-lying land and roads, particularly in the Thorney Mill Road and Cricketfield Road areas, which may impact Riverside Mobile Home Park.
The forecast shows rain overnight into tomorrow morning, with levels expected to remain high and steady on the Lower Colne at our Staines Moor river gauge.
We are continuing to monitor rainfall and river levels and will remove this alert when the risk has been reduced.
Flood alert for Chertsey Bourne
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the Chertsey Bourne as a result of the recent heavy rainfall. Therefore, flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected later this morning, especially in the Free Prae Road area of Chertsey.
Rainfall is forecast to clear later this morning. We expect river levels to remain high throughout the day.
Flood alert for River Blackwater and The Cove Brook
Property flooding is not currently expected. River levels are rising on the River Blackwater as a result of the recent heavy rainfall.
Therefore, flooding of low-lying land and roads is expected this morning, especially in the Tongham and Blackwater areas. Rainfall is forecast to clear later this morning.
We expect river levels to remain high throughout the day.
