A growing entertainment company has plans to occupy a long-vacant store in Reading town centre and convert it into a bowling alley.
Lane7 is an up-and-coming bowling company which currently has 16 sites spread across England, Scotland and Berlin.
Now the company has set its sights on Reading, with a plan to occupy the Mothercare unit in King Street which has been vacant since the end of 2019.
The bowling complex would stretch across two floors of the building, at ground and basement level.
In preparation for opening, Lane7 has applied to sell alcohol, hold indoor sports activities and put on other entertainment such as music and films from 10am to 1am each day.
Additionally, it has applied to provide hot food and soft drinks from 11pm to 1am each night as well.
These activities have been applied for in a licensing application to Reading Borough Council.
A statutory consultation into the application has begun, You can comment on it by emailing licensing@reading.gov.uk.
Anyone wishing to make a representation must do so by Thursday, November 7.
The plan to open in Reading has not appeared on the Lane7 website yet.
The company is due to open in Cardiff, Dublin, York, Belfast and Milton Keynes.
