Reports of a man with a firearm poaching in a field north of Reading has led to a major police response with armed officers and a search helicopter.
Police were called at 7pm last night after a suspicious individual was spotted around Sheepways Lane and Tokers Green Lane.
Nearby residents report that Tokers Green Lane was closed for more than hour during the police search - with the scene looking like something from a popular video game, according to some.
In a post on social media, one resident said: "We just came up the road - Packhorse to the left - and a swat team stopped our car flashing there lights at us and loads of armed police came flooding out guns spinning in all directions.
"Kids thought they were in a real life game of (Fortnite)."
An air rifle was located, but no suspects were apprehended, according to Thames Valley Police.
A spokesperson from the force said: "We continue to investigate the report and would appeal to anyone who with information or who was in the area around 7pm yesterday and may have footage to contact the force.
