Kiri Pritchard-McLean has announced her brand new show 'Peacock' is coming to Reading. 

Part of her UK tour, Ms Pritchard-Mclean's performance arrives at the Concert Hall, Reading, 9th November at 7.30pm. 

The performance is directed by Adam Drake, and presented by Little Wander in association with PBJ Mangement.

Ms Pritchard-McLean shares her journey becoming a foster parent, and under the pseudonym 'Louise,' multi-award winning comedian reveals behind the lives of social workers, first aid training, and what not to do when a vicar searches for you on YouTube.

Alastair Cope, head of Foster Wales, said: "It's fantastic to see our foster carer, Kiri, positively promoting fostering during her UK tour.

"It will really help increase awareness of foster care, and challenge false perceptions around what it takes to be a foster carer."

Foster Wales is a national network of not-for-profit authority fostering services in Wales.

The group have aimed to recruit over 800 foster families by 2026 to provide safe homes for young people.

Mr Cope added: "We hope that through Kiri candidly sharing her fostering journey, people will recognise skills and qualities in themselves and consider putting in an enquiry to foster."

Rolling Stone warns guests going to see the show with: "Expect sequins, social commentary, and massive laughs from the renaissance woman of UK comedy."

The Guardian described the performance as: "Making powerhouse standup from the thorniest of subjects."

As part of the tour, Ms Pritchard-McLean will also be collecting items for charity.

The show will see her collecting pens and pencils for Pens for Kids UK, a grassroots organisation that collects pens and pencils, and distributes them globally for children's education.

Ms Pritchard is known for hosting Live at the Apollo, her appearances on Have I Got News For You, 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, QI and Frankie Boyle's New World Order.

She has a weekly show on BBC Wales, and hosted Newsjack, Loose Ends, and The New Quiz.

Ms Pritchard-McLean's Radio 4 panel show, Best Medicine, has been commissioned for a second series.

She is also hosts a series of podcasts, including All Killa No Filla about serial killers, Who Are You Wearing, and her comedy travel podcast The Pod of Wales, which she co-hosts with Esyllt Sears.

During 2020, Ms Pritchard-McLean hosted Live From The Covid Arms, which was named as a cultural highlight of the year by The Telegraph.
