A councillor has come forward to pay tribute as a teenager and three men have been charged with attempted murder in the area. 

Dallen Brown, 22, of Swallows Croft, Reading, Davis Nduyimana, 22, of Granville Road, Reading and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, have all been charged after an incident on Friday, October 11.

They were all charged on Tuesday, October 15 with one count each of attempted murder and threatening a person with an offensive weapon/ bladed article/corrosive substance in a private place.

Keenan Dawes, 20, Swallows Croft, Reading, was also charged on Thursday, October 17 with one count of attempted murder and one count of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.

Councillor for Coley Paul Gittings said that he extends his sympathies to the victim in this highly distressing time. 

"This was clearly highly distressing for the victim and as a ward councillor I would extend my sympathies to them," he said.

"Fortunately, incidents of this type are extremely rare in Coley and across Reading and it is good to see prompt police action and arrests in this case."

The charges comes after an incident in Wensley Road, Reading, which took place at about 1pm on Friday, October 11.

All men and the teen appeared at Reading Magistrates’ Court last week and they were each remanded into custody to appear at Reading Crown Court on November 11.
