A brand new independent cafe and pancake house has recently opened its doors and customers are already raving about it.

Creperie Doux Sourire is situated next to Vue Cinema and has taken the place of the former Starbucks site.

Speaking directly to the manager Paul Nicklinson, he said that they have had a great reception so far.

The creperie's owner, Liya Efremova, opened another crepe house in Windsor just five months previously which has proven to be very popular with customers.

"She opened in Windsor Royal Station about five and a half months ago, so this is our second branch. We are both from Wokingham," Mr Nicklinson said.

"We were just thinking of ideas on what do to for our next business venture, and as we both like crepes we thought this would be a good fit."

The pair have both been to France a lot and also Greece, and thought the idea presented itself as something different for a high street eatery.

Neither Windsor Reading had a creperie before they both decided to open up, so it seemed like the perfect gap in the market.

"We want to be more than just a creperie, if you look at our menu it is quite extensive with a lot of different options," Mr Nicklinson continued.

"For example, we have lots of savoury options like spinach and jamon which we slice by hand with sourdough bread and we also have a selection of English cheeses for a cheese board."

Mr Nicklinson explained that they do a wide selection of savoury crepes, which are proving to be really popular. These include a variety of vegetarian options.

They also then of course do a selection of sweet crepes and homemade soups, salads, and toasties.

"We also do specials often, such as our one today which is a crepe that has duck in it," he said. "People have been really positive about us, they like the ambiance. It's all been really good.

"We've been told the coffee is excellent and we used a speciality maker and beans. We've also made a huge effort with the interior, and a lot of the stuff is really special."

Mr Nicklinson went on to say how the table in the middle of the restaurant was actually from a former pub, and that the chairs were from Cambridge University.

"We used a designer and are really pleased with the signage, it's all done at such a high level," he concluded.
