Caversham Road Fire Station opened its doors to the public to celebrate 85 years of service.
The station marked the milestone with a community event on Saturday, where people had the chance to explore the fire engine and try out firefighters' gear.
The fire station is the oldest and largest fire station in Berkshire, and is located close to Reading Station on the northern side of the Caversham Road railway bridge.
The station has one Volvo FL8 fire engine as well as the Service’s Water and Animal Rescue Unit.
Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) operates across Berkshire, covering 488 square miles with twelve wholetime and four on-call stations.
