Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service (RBFRS) have issued safety tips ahead of Halloween, Diwali and Bonfire Night.
Nicola Smith, East Hub Prevention Manager for RBFRS, advised: "If someone does get burnt, remember to cool, call and cover.
"Cool the area under cool running tap water for at least 20 minutes, call 999 or 111 for medical advice, and loosely cover the affected area with cling film."
The service also advised ensuring costumes and masks are flame-resistant, keeping children away from naked flames, and not attaching decorations to heaters or lights.
Candle users are encouraged to place them in proper holders on stable surfaces, consider using flameless options, and keep them away from flammable materials.
All candles should be extinguished before leaving a room or going to sleep.
For fireworks, RBFRS recommends buying only from licensed retailers, adhering to the midnight curfew, and following the instructions carefully.
Fireworks should be used with consideration for neighbours and animals, and children should be supervised at all times.
Bonfires, which can quickly become unmanageable, should be built away from buildings, fences, and trees, with a water source on hand.
Aerosols, tyres, and anything containing foam or paint should not be burned.
Bonfires should never be left unattended, and petrol or paraffin should not be used to ignite them.
