The following cases were heard at Reading Magistrates’ Courts.

GARY NORRIS, 43, of Luff Close, Windsor, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a bladed knife in Friar Street, Reading in September 9 this year, namely a Stanley knife. He was given a 21 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to complete up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity. There were court costs of £85.

DOMINIC LE MERLE, 38, of Purley Rise, Reading, pleaded guilty to driving whilst unfit through drunk on December 7 last year, namely on Caversham Road, Reading, He also pleaded guilty to one count of failing to provide a specimen for testing. He was disqualified from driving for 14 months, reduced by 14 weeks for a course, and fined £415. There were court costs of £1,000 and a victim surcharge of £166.

ARPINDER BRAR, 44, of Horton Road, Datchet, Slough, pleaded guilty to one count of fraud by false representation on March 12 this year by using a stolen card in Greggs and Game Nation Casino, one count of vehicle interference on March 12, and one count of theft from a vehicle on March 12 after stealing a black leather purse. She also pleaded guilty to two counts of theft of a mail bag in Datchet on September 1 – one contained a bottle of moisturiser and cleaning spray to the value of £9.75, and one contained four pairs of shots to the value of £111. She was given a four week prison sentence, suspended by 18 months. She was ordered to complete up to 26 days of a specified programme and 12 days of rehabilitation activity. There were court costs of £85.

MASON FORD, 19, of Forest Green, Bracknell, pleaded guilty to one count of resisting a police constable in the execution of duty on April 8 this year. He was fined £80. There were court costs of £40.

KIRK GREENWOOD, 45, of Ifould Crescent, Wokingham, pleaded guilty to failing to answer to court/police bail on October 9 this year in Reading. He was fined £50. There was also a victim surcharge of £70.

AJAY DAVATWAL, 42, of The Frithe, Slough, was found guilty to one count of assault by beating on June 23 last year in Slough. He was given a community order to complete up to 20 days of rehabilitation activity and 180 hours of unpaid work. He was also made subject to a restraining order. There were court costs of £650 and a victim surcharge of £114.

DAVID JAMES, 38, of College Peace, Mortimer, Reading, pleaded to two counts of drug driving in Reading on March 26, one count of driving without third party insurance, and pleaded guilty to one count of driving while disqualified. He was disqualified from driving for 40 months and fined £400. He was also ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £160.

DONTATE DENNY-SPRINGER, 20, of Oxford Road, Reading, pleaded guilty to drug driving in Reading on May 19 this year. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £120. There were court costs of £40 and a victim surcharge of £48.
