As concerns mount over the survival of pubs and bars, it is suspected that one in five owners fear closure within the next year.

This has been the case for multiple Reading public houses throughout the years, with many favourites disappearing due to rising costs and a decrease in customers and sales.

Following the Covid-19 pandemic and the cost of living crisis, the hospitality industry has been already reeling. Many will be looking at the Chancellors Autumn budget for relief or face the possibility of closure.

Here are some of the pubs that we have loved and lost throughout the years.
