The team and I were lucky enough to try a slice of Reading's most talked about pizza place, and here's exactly what we thought.
Dough Bros, situated next to Short Back & Vibes hair salon on Northumberland Avenue, has been praised by many for having some of the best pizzas in town.
Speaking directly to The Chronicle, pizzeria owner Max Brian-Boys, 27, said that things have been going well since they opened.
Mr Brian-Boys was kind enough to drop us off four speciality pizzas to see for ourselves what all the fuss was about.
We all tried a pepperoni, a margarita, a biltong pizza, and a special rosemary and garlic bread.
Local Democracy Reporter for Reading James Aldridge said that he could compare the delicious taste of the pizzas to one he tried in Italy.
"I've been to South Tyrol, Italy in September, where I had some of the best pizza in my life," he said.
"This really does match it. The pizza flavour tastes authentic."
Mr Brian-Boys said that the business started out doing a lot of takeaways but he has since utilised his DIY skills to improve the interior, so a lot more people are now eating in.
During September of this year, the restaurant saw a full house almost every weekend - staggering for an eatery outside of the city centre.
"I can't believe it to be honest. I feel like we have really struck a cord within the community, and they see us as somewhere you can walk into and are greeted with a warm smile," he said.
Local Democracy Reporter for Bracknell Ruth Lucas also said that she enjoyed the authentic taste of the pizza.
"The pizza was really tasty, had interesting toppings and flavours which made it stand out from your regular margarita," Ms Lucas said.
"The bread was nice and thin and tasted good quality, and great that it also came with dips to dunk the crusts into."
Mr Brian-Boys went on to say that he feels that the businesses in the neighbourhood have been often outshined by those in the town centre, and this is something he wants to change.
He said that he feels the centre of Reading is overrun with chains, and that independents like his differ from them as they are run by people who really care about the ambience and food.
Local Democracy Reporter for Slough Nick Clark said that he also enjoyed the pizza, and felt satisfied after finishing his portion.
"Solid base - not too thin and crispy. Substantial toppings too. Didn't feel ripped off or left wanting," he said.
