A new pub has opened its doors in Newbury this week following a huge investment.
The Coat and Bear, located on Bartholomew Street, launched on Tuesday, October 29 right in the heart of Newbury.
The Georgian building holds 26 boutique rooms, a bar and a restaurant, and is part of the Heartwood Inn Collection.
Known as a ‘pub with rooms’, the large team of staff welcomed customers into the new establishment with a delicious menu of hearty classics.
The Coat and Bear said: “This is more than just a place to stay, we provide a true home-away-from-home experience, the perfect destination for our guests to enjoy a warm welcome, superior food, and a luxurious night’s sleep in this spacious and open setting.”
The name, Coat and Bear, is a nod to the Newbury-born Michael Bond, the author of Paddington Bear as well as the historic Newbury coat of 1811.
