A man in his thirties has been arrested in connection with an XL Bully dog attack at a Reading bus stop.

The incident occurred at around 11:51pm on Wednesday, October 23 on Corbridge Road, Whitley.

After exiting the bus, the 38-year-old woman was attacked from behind by the dog, causing extensive damage to her face and hand.

Thames Valley Police have reported that the man has been released on bail whilst investigations are underway.

The XL Bully dog has been seized by police and taken to kennels to be ‘destroyed’.

According to the family, the victim has undergone three surgeries to restructure her ear and scalp. Whilst attempting to dislodge the dog from her head, the XL Bully also bit through her hand which also required surgery at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

She has since been discharged from hospital.
