The National Trust is inviting visitors to dive into a festive wonderland this Christmas season.

From Christmas fairs to wreath-making workshops, and even a Santa Run, the Trust's properties are set to offer a truly magical experience for all.

Historic houses and gardens will be decorated, with the delightful scents of sweet spices and the sparkle of fairy lights setting the scene for family memories.

Some places will be fully festive from mid-November, while others will join in the celebrations a little later.

Richard Grudzinski, experiences curator at the National Trust, said: "The great thing about a National Trust Christmas is that everything you want in a Christmas is done for you, from trees, decorations, festive food and cosy spaces to reconnect with family and friends."

At Hughenden, from November 25 to January 3, visitors can enjoy a Nordic Christmas, with the Victorian manor house transformed into a Nordic village complete with Odin's Forest, a grand yule feast, and a skiing-themed hillside room.

There's also an activity trail in the garden based on the Nordic Fairytale, the Little Fir Tree, and festive food to enjoy.

Cliveden, from November 23 to January 5, offers a Christmas mystery trail where visitors can help solve the mystery of who stole Lady Astor's precious family heirloom.

Basildon Park, from November 16 to January 5, will celebrate its 20 years as a film location by paying tribute to classic Christmas films, with each room giving a nod to a different movie.

Visitors can also enjoy a festive lunch on selected dates in December, priced at £25 for two courses and £30 for three courses.

Greys Court, from November 23 to January 5, will be turning up the glamour with a 1930s Christmas, complete with cocktails, palms, and peacock feathers.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, Stowe Gardens, from November 30 to January 6, will have a giant twinkling Christmas tree overseeing lots of activities, including a wish walk and a 'wish upon a star' installation in the Temple of Venus.

Santa will also be making an appearance for a 5k run on December 1.

For those who love crafts, the Coleshill Christmas craft fair on November 24 will offer a variety of gifts.

Chastleton will offer a 1960's themed Christmas between 27 November- 15 December, and a chance to see Chastleton after dark with a candlelight tour.
